BEES!

Thu Sep 18, 2008, 5:06 PM
I feel like my head is full of angry bees, buzzing around, crashing into eachother and battling it out for priority.
I have SOOOO many ideas right now, so many things I want to work on. I keep switching back and forth between them and my frustration is rising.
I need/want to:
finish my ref sheet for Sidian.
make a ref/write-up for Sidian's species/race.
color about 4 or 5 pictures (mostly naughty) involving members of said race.
finish up several commissions & trades.
work on the next fanfic.
create a character ref sheet for my roommate's character.
spend a long time just trying to draw human faces so I can get better at them.
in conjunction with learning to draw people better, start trying to draw WoW art.
roleplay more in Imperia.
figure out and roleplay more on WoW.
level/quest with my belf Rogue and get him his worg mount.
start drawing more 'normal' art to build up a portfolio.
get more practice with Painter.
get cracking on making T-shirts so I'm not rushed at the last minute.
do some badge art for FC '09.
finish real media art for FC '09 art show.
sign up for said art show. >.<
re-read the Southern Vampire novel series, start to finish >.<

Oi. I know there's more, but those are the only bees I could rattle to the surface at the moment.
The last few days my ability to draw has gone down the pooper, so maybe that's my brain's way of telling me that I should work on something else, but I WANT to draw, damnit!

How exactly does the print functionality work on DA? Anyone had experience with it who can relay said experience to me?

Photobucket...wut?

Mon Aug 11, 2008, 12:08 AM
Okay so I've seen a few journals ranting about something or other about photobucket, but just continued on my merry oblivious way. Until just now...apparently people snag art, which THEY DID NOT DO, and slap it up on photobucket, which doesn't give credit or explanation or anything. And then OTHER hosers come along and go "golly this is a cool picture" and steal it from there, and people like me, who DREW this image, are left going "wut? wtf? what just happened?"
Is there a way to CONTACT photobucket and say "Uh...yeah NO. Take this shit down." Because this is uncool. My yin yang picture has been stolen over and over and over, and I'm willing to guess it's 90% because of random asstards putting it on photobucket for whatever frickin' reason.
What's the deal here? People just upload pictures they think are cool into their photobucket account and sit on them? I don't get it. Someone please explainy because I am become anger.

Sooo angry...

All right, I don't know the truth of the matter in this, since I just got this very simple comment on my elfwood on the my extremely frequently stolen yin-yang picture. [link]

"Oh yeah, just to add on, I saw this at Lam`s Garden. They didn`t put your signature on it. :.(
They had it on the outside of their resturant. Did you let them do that?"

Unfortunately there are many "Lam's Garden" restaurants. Do any of you out there know of this restaurant? Is there one near you? Can you check this out for me? Because if they are using THIS picture...fucking lawsuit. Hardcore. There are lots of dragon yin-yang pics out there, so it might be similar. I want verification. I asked her where she is and hopefully she replies. Her ';position map' on Elfwood puts her in the midwest. Ohio area. But that's anything but accurate. [link]
There is one in Athens, Ohio which may be the one in question. Anyone around there?

Commentary...

Sat Jul 26, 2008, 10:02 AM
I've been sitting on this for a while, just sort of pondering...
A friend of mine recently posted a pic of two male elves in a very cute/sexy kissy pose. I love the pic, it makes me retardedly happy, and I can't stop frothing over it. (Partially because it's her char and mine, which are in a fanfic I'm writing).
While she got a lot of positive feedback, there were a few people who found it necessary to point out how much they dislike M/M intimacy images. It kinda pissed me off, but I refrained from bitching at them, because it just isn't worth it to get all riled up. Why do people go out of their way to comment negatively on artwork like that? I mean, if you don't like it, look away. Why post at all? Do they realize it might upset the artist? Do they realize that it doesn't matter if they like it or not, it's still there, and the artist is likely going to keep drawing it if they enjoy it? Do they think they're SO terribly important that their saying "ew I don't like gay elves" is going to make her go "Well damn! I'd better stop drawing them JUST FOR YOU!"? wtf? I don't get it. What's with people?
I'm just tired of inconsiderate people. If I draw something you don't like, go look elsewhere. Don't bitch about how much you dislike it. I don't care. You don't have to look at it, it's not going to change anything. I'm tired of people going out of their way to find things on the internet that they find distasteful, and then bitch about it. If an artist you're watching posts something you don't care for, don't look at it. Move on to the next picture in your deviant watch list, and forget about it. I understand not every comment needs to be "Omg that's great!" positive commentary, but there's a difference between constructive criticism/critique and "I don't like your content". Grr. Why is that even necessary? Short answer: It's not
